ASN Database

The ASN database is downloaded from the Route Views project.

This project does amazing work in assembling this data, however there are sometimes problems downloading it (stalled/slow connections), which can stall out the worker container.

Recommended Settings: If you’re not using ASNs, don’t enable the automatic downloader, and don’t worry about making sure you’ve got the latest version all the time.

Typically, you don’t need to update the database, especially if you’re not using ASNs. However, if you need to, feel free to press the “Force ASN DB Download” button in settings and it’ll grab the latest version it can find.

This download can take up to 30 minutes to download the 70MB file, and if it stalls out, you’ll need to kill and restart the worker container. Generally, it’s best to just leave it as is, an “outdated” file of even a month or so isn’t going to break any sites.
